Our Story

HCM Biltong Bar is a proudly family-run business, established in 2014 by husband and wife team, Herman and Cornelia Agenbag. Our journey began with Herman’s lifelong passion for biltong, honed over more than 25 years in the industry. From the very start, our goal has been to share authentic, traditional biltong with our community, drawing on generations of expertise and love for quality meat products.

Our Heritage

At HCM Biltong Bar, we believe that true flavour comes from respecting time-honoured methods. Our unique family recipe has been passed down through generations, and is not something you’ll find on a supermarket shelf. Each batch is lovingly mixed by hand, ensuring that every piece of biltong captures the essence of our heritage. Our curing technique remains faithful to the practices of our great-great-grandparents, embracing the real, traditional way biltong was made in South Africa with no quick drying methods used.
